Hi, My name is Linfang Wang, I am currectly a fifth year Ph.D. student in Department of Electrical & Compuater Engineering, UCLA. I am working with Professor Richard Wesel and Professor Dariush Divsalar in Communication and System Laboratory.

My research interests are inforamtion theory and coding theory. More specifically, I am working on non-uniform quantization LDPC decoder construction and find fabulous protograph based LDPC code. Besides, I am also interested in the combination between information bottleneck and deep neural network.

  • 08/2022, our paper “Shaped TCM with List Decoding that Exceeds the RCU Bound by Optimizing a Union Bound on FER” was accepted for 2022 IEEE GLOBECOM ! This paper devloped neumerial analysis for the CRC-PAS-TCM system, which was presented in ICC’22.
  • 06/2022, Linfang won UCLA 2022 dissertation year fellowship (DYF) !
  • 05/2022, Linfang’s FIRST US patent “Low-density parity-check (LDCP) decoder of reconstruction-computation-quantization (RCQ) approach for a storage device.” was filed on April/26/2022! Link.
